This map shows the hamlet of Broughton in the first half of the 19th century when the whole area formed part of the Croome estate.

 

Note the road system, the position of the buildings, at and the absence of the church and the school. and look there is a Workhouse at the bottom of the map.

This map shows the village of Drakes Broughton after World War 2.  The village is still part of the Croome Estate. 

 

Note the school and the church. Look carefully at the layout of the buildings and the use of the land.
