A DETECTIVE'S WORK - what does this mean?

The Detective's Handbook will help you with find out about detective 'work'.  It has been written to help team leaders understand what they are doing so that they can get the very best from the members of their team.  The handbook comprises a series of articles, each one dealing with some aspect of the work the detectives will be doing as they collect information for Arthur.  The 'Play Heritage Detectives' game instructions indicate what to do  not, how to it', the Handbook fills the gaps and gives step by step instructions for each stage of a detective's work.  The Detective's Handbook is divided into three sections.  

 

SECTION ONE is all about Arthur.  Here you will be able to find out more Arthur's story,  and what has been happening since he made it his quest to discover 

  • Why there were two abbots in Pershore Abbey when King John visited in 1204.
  • The names of the abbots and where they came from. 
  • Why it was that they shared Pershore market.

SECTION TWO is all about your mission to help Arthur.  The detective's work is broken down  into small component-like parts. It is a good idea to make sure everyone understands this process before you go out exploring. Each stage in the process is described in detail. Here is a list of the topics. 

SECTION THREE. The Glossary.

This is full of words that may be new for heritage detectives.
